Myungduk Kim is a media artist and composer specialized in baroque and contemporary music. He combines audio and generative techniques to create interactive performance and theatre work. His compositions describe digital art works that present a balance of direction between technology and artistic aspects. The theme of interaction, which is one of the characteristics of contemporary art, is expressed by motion, visual and sound. By using technology, he goes beyond the limits of time and space that art can express and often builds performance environments which are based on artificial intelligence and modular synthesised sound.
His work was performed at several festivals and exhibitions in Europe. He regularly works with string ensembles, solo instrumentalists and choreographers to represent and expand the field of digital art. Currently he is not only developing and operating digital art exhibitions but also related educational programmes. 2017 he introduced an art education workshop „Art and Technology“ as a child-oriented programme that guides into the field of interactive and generative art.
His last stations were e.g. the Performing Arts Residency 'Atalaia Artes Performativas' in Aljustrel, Ourique (Portugal) and his participation as a finalist at International Sound Art Competition 'The Engine Room 2017' in London.
